This results in free spinning cranks, but also significantly shortens the life of bottom brackets. The Extremum RacePrep bottom bracket is the first external BB designed for BMX racing. As a nurse, I am able to put this in my scrub pocket and make notes as I go along. I also write down my patients' meds so I can refer to it when the computer is not available or not with me. Since it is wet proof I can sanitize it when (and not if) it gets something on it. I use a ballpoint pen and have used a pencil and none of my writing gets smeared or erased by the disinfectant wipes. Since I have these books stored securely in my locker if something comes up in the future with someone I can refer back to them for answers not found in the chart. I use my book when I am giving shift report which is very helpful when I have to tell the know-it-all nurse every little detail because she wants to eat breakfast instead of reading orders and notes.
