It's the finish that fools the eye, the aged beige rubbed onto the surface so that it collects in the rougher spots, mimicking how the stone would have looked where it was broken off. The beige sculpture is attached to a solid black marble base and mounted to read like it's a museum piece.

These shelves are rey stylish, light and durable! The set came with everything needed to install. The color is just as described. Price is steal and these shelves can definitely be used anywhere throughout the house. I did give it only 4 stars because as you can see in the photos, the underneath was not completely finished. Mounting system doesn’t align on one of three shelves.

Nice shelves. Install was super easy except on one of the three shelves. The main mounting shelf holes were off so the shelf will not slip onto horizontal mounting poles unless I modify the shelf. So a 20 minute job becomes a two hour job. The mounting system does appear very sturdy just not aligned.
