There is a little splitting in the wood on the base and the outer edge of the lid is missing a thin piece of wood that split off. All in all, its actually in rather good condition and appears to have been stored pretty well.

Older picture books have better stories and hand drawn illustrations

Fun to read aloud, old-school, easy read by Diane DeGroat about classroom friendships, honesty, kindness, and fixing mistakes. K-2nd grade will enjoy.
So many of today’s children’s books lack depth, depend on dumb fart/poop jokes, are tied to tv shows/movies, or overfocus on moralizing and turning kids into little adults. Read for fun with your kids as often as you can! Check out children’s authors/illustrators from the 80’s and 90’s!
